How Do I Pay for Child Care?
4-C administers several child care assistance programs in 15 counties to help families pay for child care. Eligibility for these programs is based on income guidelines, family size and county of residence. Some of the programs have a waiting list for services however names are not being added at this time.
4-C currently administers programs in these counties:
Kentucky: Breckinridge, Bullitt, Grayson, Hardin, Henry, Jefferson, Larue, Marion, Meade, Oldham, Nelson, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble, Washington
Kentucky Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)
To be eligible, parent(s) must be a Kentucky resident, not exceed income requirements, and meet one or more of the following requirements:
- Working an average of 20 hours every week and meet income requirements (NOTE: A parent who is involved for an average of 20 hours per week in an unpaid student activity including an internship, practicum or student teaching is exempt from the paid work requirement.)
- Attending a college or an accredited secondary school or pursuing a GED and working at least 20 hours every week and meet income requirements
- Attending high school or pursuing a GED and be a teen parent
- Receiving KTAP benefits and receives an authorization from their DCBS worker.
- Receiving protective or preventive services and receive an authorization.
CCAP currently serves applying families whose annual gross income is under $22,065 (family of 2), $27,795 (family of 3), $33,525 (family of 4), etc.
There is not a waiting list for Kentucky Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).

To be eligible for these two programs, families must meet income and residence requirements and be employed at least 20 hours per week
None of these programs currently serve families whose annual gross income is over $39,600 (family of 2), $44,550 (family of 3), $49,450 (family of 4), etc.
